The 4th Conference on Recent Advances
in the Prevention and Management
of Childhood and Adolescent Obesity
Deadline for abstract submissions - March 23, 2012
Extended deadline *ONLY* for poster submissions – Friday, May 18, 2012
For each conference, we work with a different planning committee with expertise in the respective fields. Depending on what the planning committee agrees upon, a call for abstracts may be issued. The call for abstracts is usually paired with the advance notice that is made available approximately 9 – 12 months prior to the conference. The call for abstracts will include guidelines for the different presentation formats that are available, along with all the specific details needed for each submission. Usually the deadline for abstract submissions is 1 – 2 months from the date the call is made available, to allow ample time for interested parties. However, we are unable to accept any more abstracts once the abstract submission deadline has passed.
An expert review committee, which usually includes a combination of members of the planning committee along with other professionals in the field, are responsible for reviewing all the abstracts received. Together, the committee members determine which submissions are most suitable for the conference in what presentation format.
Sometimes, abstracts are not accepted as the presentation format that it was submitted for. A limited amount of time is available at each conference. There may not be enough time slots for the specific presentation type the abstract was submitted for, but the review committee might feel that the information will be valuable and should be present at the conference in some form.
