Professional Bursaries

A limited number of tuition fee bursaries to partially cover tuition fees are available for service providers. This funding is intended for individuals that otherwise would not be in a position to attend.

For individuals in greater Vancouver you can apply for a partial bursary of $125 CAD for the pre-conference registration OR $275 for the main conference. In your application letter, please indicate if you would prefer to attend the main conference or the pre-conference. Accepted applicants will be required to pay $120 for the pre-conference or $275 for the main conference (including GST), which includes all educational sessions, materials, one reception and one lunch during the main conference as well as refreshment breaks. The fees must be received within 7 days of the notification that you have received a bursary.

For individuals whom also need to travel to attend this conference (Vancouver Island, Whistler and past Whistler and past Hope) you can apply for a partial bursary of $195 CAD for the pre-conference registration OR $325 for the main conference. In your application letter, please indicate if you would prefer to attend the main conference or the pre-conference. Accepted applicants will be required to pay $50 for the pre-conference or $150 for the main conference (including GST), which includes all educational sessions, materials, one reception and one lunch during the main conference as well as refreshment breaks. The fees must be received within 7 days of the notification that you have received a bursary.

Family Bursaries

A limited number of tuition fee bursaries to partially cover tuition fees are available for family members of relatives with DD. This funding is intended for individuals who otherwise would not be in a position to attend.

Please note that this is a partial bursary of $220 CAD for the pre-conference registration and $425 for the main conference registration. Accepted applicants will be required to pay $25 CAD (including GST) for the pre-conference and $50 for the main conference. The fees must be received within 7 days of the notification that you have received a bursary.

Application Process
The bursaries will be awarded on a first-come, first-served basis according to the date and time the bursary application is received by email or fax in our office. A complete application must include the following:

  • A letter outlining:
    • how attending the conference will benefit you and your family OR how attending the conference will benefit you (professionally)
    • your financial need
    • your preference to attend the main conference or the pre-conference (professional bursary applicants only)
  • a completed registration form including session choices (the last page of the conference brochure)

Please also note that the bursary will not cover travel, accommodation, or other associated costs.
