A. Conference Syllabus (one per presentation). We will be preparing a syllabus and must receive content materials for your presentation(s). Please submit your materials in Word or PowerPoint format only, we are not able to accept PDF submissions. See here for syllabus submission guidelines.

Please remember to use Inclusive Terminology and Images when and preparing your presentations. People-first language is the standard for respectfully addressing people with chronic disease, rather than labeling them by their illness. Because of the importance of reducing weight bias associated with obesity, authors should not use “obese” as an adjective or noun to describe an individual person or group of people, but instead use terms such as “people with obesity” or “children with obesity”. Authors should not use terminology and images that could be interpreted as shaming, stereotyping, biased, or prejudiced. The 7th Conference on Recent Advances in the Prevention and Treatment of Childhood and Adolescent Obesity Committee and their partners urge all presenters to use people-first language and inclusive images for their presentations at the conference. FREE images can be found in several image banks created by recognized organizations including Obesity Canada: https://obesitycanada.ca/resources/image-bank/; UConn Rudd Center for Food Policy & Obesity: http://www.uconnruddcenter.org/image-library and the Obesity Action Coalition: https://www.obesityaction.org/image-gallery/.
