Kristina Hiemstra
Director

Kristina Hiemstra, Director, has been with Interprofessional for nine years. She grew up in Sweden and holds a Bachelor of Adult Education from Linköping University. In advance of working for the University of British Columbia she was with the Burnaby Board of Trade. Kristina enjoys most sports including skiing, hiking and volleyball. She also loves traveling.

Katia Despot
Senior Education Manager

Katia was born and raised in Nizhny Novgorod, Russia and moved to Canada in 2002. She graduated from the UBC Sauder School of Business specializing in Human Resource Management. Katia loves traveling and spending time with family and friends. She also enjoys practicing yoga, reading and swimming.

Jo Nam
Senior Education Manager

Jo initially joined the IP team as a UBC Sauder School of Business co-op student, and has returned for a full-time position. She has a major in Business and a minor in Philosophy, all at UBC. She likes to read a lot and listen to music.

Cris Ohno
Financial Processing Specialist

Born in the Philippines, Cris grew up most of her life in Canada. Her family consists of a husband, two grown up daughters & a mini dashchund. Cris enjoys walking, playing volleyball, gardening, watching her family play hockey and spending time with families.

Kathryn Booth
Program Assistant

Kathryn was born and raised in Calgary, and received her Bachelor of Arts in Communications from Carleton University in Ottawa, before moving to Vancouver in 2013. When not at work she spends her time reading, catching up on TV, and cooking (or baking) for her eternally grateful friends.

Cynthia Minh
Program Assistant

Cynthia was born and raised in Toronto, but has lived in Vancouver since 2013. She completed her MA in English Literature at the University of British Columbia with an interest in Asian diasporic literature. When she’s not working, she’s likely watching your next favourite television show.

Taylor Peterson
Marketing Coordinator

Taylor was born in Calgary and raised all over the world. She has her Bachelor of Communications and Culture degree from the University of Calgary. She represented Canada on the National and International stages for swimming before retiring in 2008. She enjoys being in the mountains and long runs by the ocean.
