ECE Bursary Funding for UBC Early Years Conference 2020

In partnership with The Province of British Columbia – Ministry of Children & Family Development, and The Government of Canada, Westcoast Child Care Resource Centre (WCCRC) has established a Professional Development Bursary fund for early childhood educators and other child care providers in BC.

Eligibility Requirements:

Early childhood educators or early care professionals working directly with children (0-8 years) a minimum of 15 hours a week who are Canadian citizens/ permanent residents and living in British Columbia.

This includes:

  • Early Childhood Educators
  • Aboriginal Headstart Staff
  • Early Childhood Educator Assistants
  • School-age Child Care Providers
  • Licensed Family Child Care Providers
  • Registered (License-Not-Required) Child Care Providers
  • Successful graduates of the Responsible Adult Course
  • Other front-line professionals working directly with children between the ages of 0-8 years (at least 15 hours a week)

Please note this does not include AIP and Infant Development professionals.

Tuition Bursary Support:

There are a limited number of tuition fee bursaries distributed on first come, first serve bases where individuals qualified for the ECE PD Bursary Fund would pay $100 for the main conference or $175 for the main and pre-conference.

Accommodation:

In addition there are $600 in accommodation support for a limited number of people requiring accommodations to attend the UBC Early Years Conference.  Individuals are asked to make their own reservation at the Hyatt Regency Vancouver.

The accommodation support will be based provided based on the following eligibility priority:

  1. First Nations, Inuit, Métis
  2. Those people living in rural/remote communities
  3. Those living 75 km or more away

You will be notified by December 15th if you are approved for the accommodation bursary.
